SURREY — Love Mary Poppins, the old Disney movie? Here’s a chance to sing along to “Chim Chim Cher-ee” and other songs from the 1964 crowd-pleaser.

An outdoor “Mary Poppins Sing-A-Long” film screening will take place on Saturday, July 15 at Surrey City Hall’s Civic Plaza, as a special event in the Movies Under the Stars series hosted by Downtown Surrey BIA.

Activities start at 5 p.m. (including a show by worldclass kite dancer Tristan Underwood), and the movie starts at sundown.

Also, “Dipsy Doodle will be backwith her popular candy creations, and Whimsy Jewel’s will be on site with somespecial Canada 150 and Mary Poppins themed jewelry,” according to event planners.

As usual, the BIA’s annual Movies Under the Stars series will take place on Saturday evenings in August at Holland Park. This summer’s family-friendly movies are Lego Batman (Aug. 5), Sing (Aug. 12), Moana (Aug. 19) and Beauty & the Beast (Aug. 26).
