White Rock police continue to search for two men in connection with a violent afternoon assault earlier this week at a home in the 15900-block of Buena Vista Avenue.

Sgt. Joel Glen said Wednesday that one of the two sought was a resident of the home where the altercation occurred, “and he hasn’t returned.”

“We don’t know where he is and we’re in the process of trying to track him down.”

Police have been looking for the pair since responding to a report of a fight at a home near Stayte Road and Buena Vista Avenue around 2 p.m. Monday.

Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man suffering from head injuries and bleeding profusely from a deep laceration to his arm. They provided first aid until firefighters and paramedics arrived.

Police say the men involved are known to each other, the attack was targeted and the public is not believed to be at risk. Details of the weapon involved have not been released.

Glen said the victim has been released from hospital “and is looking for a new place to live.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two men sought is asked to contact police at 778-593-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca
