ALBERT REMUS TEICHNER

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandad, Uncle, Brother-In-Law & true friend, Albert, on January 15, 2007 at 7:01 pm. His wife, Shirley, son Gordon and daughter, Chantal were at his bedside holding him, as the Lord came to take his son back home. Predeceased by his Father & namesake, Albert & Mother, Julianna, Albert was born March 25th, 1936 in Klausenburg, Hungary. He was raised in Linz, Austria where he lived until he was 18 years old. Albert & his mother immigrated to Canada on August 1, 1954 with little money, and no more than the clothes on their backs. He was always a hard worker & worked a the CPR until 1962. On October 14, 1961, Albert married the love of his life, Shirley, for 45 wonderful years. In 1962, Albert went back to University and decided to become a Realtor. Dad was a well respected & extremely successful Realtor for 35 years. Even after he retired in 1998, he was actively involved in giving lectures, helping other Realtors with legal matters & writing monthly articles for REM Magazine. Just recently, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of writing his 1st book about real estate. Due to his untimely death, he did not have the opportunity to publish it himself, but had asked his daughter, Chantal, to continue with his plans. Dad was a brilliant, yet humble gentleman, and was so loved by all who had the honor of knowing him. He is survived by his beloved Wife, Shirley, whom he adored, his son Gordon & daughter-in-law Sonja, his daughter Chantal and son-in-law & best friend, John Richardson, as well as his precious grandkids, Tyler (11), Travis (10) & Marissa (4) who were the pride & joy of his life. He leaves behind his sister-in-law Luella East, her kids Dan East, Don McLelland, Lisa East & Doug McLelland, as well as his very good friend, Shirley King, whom he considered a sister he never had. Albert belonged to the Knights of Columbus for several years and leaves behind many friends, not only here but in Austria & Germany as well. Prayers will be held at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church at 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 21st. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 22nd at St. Bernadette Church, 6543-132nd Street, Surrey. Reception to follow in Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. God bless you Dad! Though our hearts are deeply saddened, we look forward to being together with you once again in Heaven
