SCHRADER- Eldon Richard June 26, 1926 - November 12, 2006. Eldon Richard Schrader passed into his heavenly home peacefully in Surrey, BC. Eldon was predeceased by his father, Otto Schrader (1953), his mother, Mathilda Schrader (1997), his mother-in-law Helene (1996), his brothers-in-law Reinhardt (1996), Joseph Pielak (1999), Gordon Porter (1999), and his son-in-law Mark (2004). Eldon will be lovingly remembered by his dear wife Dorothea and daughters Sandra, Judy (Dave), Sheri (Eldon); and five grandchildren, Johnathon, Michael, Emily, Joshua and Jessica whom he loved very much. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Herbert (Laura); sisters Emma, Martha (Jack), Minnette (Delmar); and by many dear nieces, nephews, great nephews/nieces. Eldon was born near Calder, SK, educated in the Berisina district, Concordia College, Edmonton, and Univ. of Sask. He taught at Marengo, Kindersley School Unit, and 25 years at Sheldon Williams Collegiate, Regina Public Schools system; he was Dept. Head of the Industrial Arts upon his retirement in 1988. He was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Regina, and a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Surrey. His many talents and interests included music, oil painting, family camping, travel, gardening and cars. A reception for family and friends will be held on Monday November 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 10177 148 Street, Surrey, followed by a Celebration of Eldon's life at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Lawrence Koehler officiating. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 16 at 2:00 p.m., Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road, Regina, SK, with a reception for family and friends following. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Eldon's memory to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, 222 Queen St., Suite 1402, Ottawa, ON, K1P 5V9.
