SCORDA, Giuseppe (Joe)
December 21, 1953 - April 12, 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe (Joe) Scorda. Born in the small Italian Village of San Nicola D'Ardore, Reggio Calabria, he came to Canada in 1968. He is survived by wife Darlene. Beloved son of Ada and Salvatore. Loving father to Sammy-Joe (Ashleigh), Antonio (Jaomey) and Nicola (Stacey). Cherished brother to Marisa (Vincenzo), Sammy (Dale) and Concettina. Loving grandfather to Derek and Robin. Dear uncle to Lisa (Domenic), Pina, Franco and Ryan. Will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
For many years Joe suffered from Multiple Sclerosis (since the age of 24) and had recently suffered a stroke which left him without speech. The courage he showed will have an everlasting effect on all those who were fortunate enough to know him. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 19th, 2:00 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. Prayers will be offered on Wednesday, April 18th, 6:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver where a Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 19th, 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Heart and Stroke foundations would be appreciated.
