Passed away April 22, 2007 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. She was born in Olds, Alberta on March 26, 1911 . Predeceased by the one love of her life Gordon Bingham in 1984. Loved and Survived by her only daughter Joy Barden, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.

Gloria spend all of her life giving to her family and the community. She was the granddaughter of pioneer families living in both New Westminster and Sumas. Granddaughter of Asa Ackerman who was the first Reeve of Sumas Prairie and one of the first Sub Collectors at the Huntingdon customs. She moved from New Westminster to Cloverdale in 1938 after her marriage to Gordon. 30 years of involvement with the 1st Cloverdale Cubs starting in the early 1940s. She rec'd the Governor-Generals medal in 1962 and 12 years later was honored by then Surrey Mayor Vander Zalm for over 30 years of work with youth. She always kept track and was proud of the accomplishments of her "cubs" as they grew into young men.

Together with Gordon they operated the Clova Theatre in the 1950s. She also served as President of the Fraser Valley Branch of the BC Highland Dancing Society. She was a member of the Isabella Rebekah lodge for many years including a time as Noble Grand.

A private graveside service was held April 25 at Valleyview Cemetary in Surrey. Gloria will be lovingly remembered at a Memorial Service on May 19th 2007 at the Cloverdale United Church. 17575 58A St Surrey at 3pm Light refreshments will follow.
