MURDOCH, Grace Evelyn
May 13, 1919 - June 25, 2017
Grace died peacefully in Laurel Place Hospice on June 25, 2017 in Surrey, BC at the age of 98. Grace is survived by her children, Margaret Doka, Lyall Murdoch and Laurie Murdoch, daughters-in-law Jean Murdoch, Marilyn Smith, Jill Murdoch and Sandra Evans, grandchildren, Alex, Jessica, Lachlan, Nicole and Greg, and three generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alex (1982) and her son Jim (1980).
Grace was born on May 13, 1919 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Charles and Jessie Watson. After graduating from high school at 16, she took teacher training and began teaching at the age of 18 in a one-room schoolhouse. Grace lived a full life; raising her children, serving God, and volunteering for her church and community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Andrews - Newton Presbyterian Church located at 7147 124 St, Surrey, BC, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
