Leonard PARSONS

June 29, 2005

Parsons, Leonard Douglas (Len)1918–2005. Our Dad passed away June 29th, 2005, after a long and weary struggle with congestive heart disease. Len was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, where he began his work in the x-ray business. After many years in sales with GH Wood Company, in and around the Ottawa valley, and London, Ontario he transferred to White Rock, BC and eventually retired. Dad belonged to the Ottawa and Rockliffe Flying clubs and the Carp airport for many years, logging 100’s of hours in the air flying small air craft. Len was an avid trout fisherman who enjoyed trips to many lakes in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. Len will be sadly missed by his children, Doug, (Brenda) Pat (Marty), Kris (Dave) and his 3 grandchildren, Michael, Rob and Alex. He leaves his much loved wife and best friend Dorothy, and his extended family. Survived by brothers, Ed, (Marg), Charlie and sisters, Ida and Eileen (pre-deceased) and many nieces and nephews. We would like to express our sincere thanks to a very special friend, Elaine Schretlen for her never ending love and support. We also will be forever grateful for the wonderful care and support provided in his final difficult months, by all the staff at Morgan Place, Cobden unit. At Dad’s request there will not be a formal service, however there will be a gathering of family and friends later in the year at White Lake, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice. The season is open “Gone Fishing!!”
