PAQUETTE, Lucien (LUKE) Adelard
Lucien Paquette passed away on February 16, 2009, at the age of 87, after a short stay at Laurel Place Hospice (Surrey) for palliative care. Born 1921 in Espanola, Ontario. Worked in family-owned business (Espanola Dairy) until mid-1960; a master carpenter all his life. Served in Canadian Armed Forces Home Guard 1940-1945. Married
Margaret Owen (Espanola) 1947.
Resided Sudbury, Ontario, until 1975 when moved to Ottawa after son's
accident, then to Vancouver in 1977, and in 1980 settled in Surrey. Played piano, guitar; enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing; curling, bowling, The Elks (Espanola); reading, walking, carpet bowling (Surrey). Luke is survived by wife, Margaret, and son, David of Surrey; daughter Nancy Eidsvig (Mark) of Winnipeg; grandsons Garrett
Eidsvig (Priscille) of Vancouver, BC, and Drew Eidsvig of Winnipeg. Predeceased by siblings (Ontario) Harvey, Roger, Rhéal, Lucienne and Yvette. Life was filled with many challenges, mishaps, adventures, and accomplishments, which made his life stories
interesting and surprising. He will be remembered as a devoted, beloved
father, husband, grandfather, friend; a supporter of several Christian ministries; one who trusted God in all circumstances. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2:00 p.m., Guildford Church of the Nazarene, 9012 - 160th St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity or ministry of choice.
