Mable passed away on April 11, 2009 in Surrey Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mable Ramage and by her husband William, daughter Irene and infant son. Mable is survived by her brother Ben and many extended family members and countless friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A loving wife and mother and cherished friend, Mable will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her compassion and her willingness to help others. A long-time resident of Newton, Mable had many interests during her life. She was well-known for her outstanding talents at gardening, baking, card playing, knitting, quilting and fishing, to name but a few. As per Mable's wishes, there will be no formal memorial service. Instead, family and friends are invited to attend a remembrance tea in Mable's honour at Sullivan Hall, 6306 152nd Street, Surrey, on April 26, 2009 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mable's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
