TEICHNER, Shirley Helene Therese(nee Hoscheit)
September 18, 1935 - July 5, 2008
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Nana, Aunt & Friend. Shirley entered into the arms of the Lord, her Saviour around 7:40 am on July 5th. She is together again with Albert, her husband, and love of her life for 45 years, who passed away in 2007. Shirley is also predeceased by her father and mother, Armand & Blanche Hoscheit; as well as her sister, Irene Holt-Barlow. Shirley was born Sept. 18, 1935 in Albertsville, Saskatchewan and was raised in Vancouver. Mom started working for Wawanesa Insurance in 1952, where she also met her lifelong friend, Shirley King. Mom met and married Dad in October 1961, and eventually retired from her job in 1968 after their son Gordon was born, to become a full time mom. Mom dedicated herself completely & unselfishly to her family, and was known by all as the world's best cook, as everything she mastered was homemade and full of love! Shirley is survived by her son, Gordon and daughter in law, Sonja Teichner; her daughter, Chantal and son in law, John Richardson; her 3 precious grandkids, Tyler (13), Travis (11 ½) and Marissa (6) whom were absolutely her pride and joy; as well as her sister, Luella East; nephews, Dan, Don & Doug and niece, Lisa. Shirley had many close friends who will also miss her dearly. Prayers will be held at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church at 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 13th. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 14th at St. Bernadette Church, 6543-132nd Street, Surrey, BC. Reception to follow in Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's name can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2743 Main Street, Vancouver, BC
