Jacob Farquharson, 3, accompanied by his grandmother Tina (right), was introduced to a collection of books by Monica Chiorean, a Strong Start facilitator from Lena Shaw Elementary School, at the Surrey Kids Read event at Guildford Town Centre on Saturday.
The annual family literacy awareness event was sponsored by Guildford Town Centre, the Surrey School District, Surrey Libraries and The Surrey-North Delta Leader.
