Ahoy mateys! White Spot is bringing back its special edition Adult Pirate Pak today (Wednesday, Aug. 15), giving the young-at-heart a chance to feel like a kid again – all while helping a worthy cause.
White Spot will celebrate its fifth annual Pirate Pak Day by donating $2 from each kids and adult Pirate Pak sold on Aug. 15 to Zajac Ranch for Children. Zajac Ranch is an established B.C. charity that gives children and young adults with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities an unforgettable summer camp experience.
“Many adults who grew up in B.C. feel deeply nostalgic about the White Spot Pirate Pak,” says White Spot President Warren Erhart. “Pirate Pak Day is the perfect opportunity to experience a piece of that childhood magic while also supporting a worthy cause. We are proud to once again be partnering with Zajac Ranch and hope to break our fundraising record of $46,714 this year.”
Over the past four years, White Spot has raised more than $152,000 for the ranch, giving 75 children the opportunity to meet new friends and experience traditional camp activities, such as canoeing, archery and horseback riding.
“White Spot’s Pirate Pak Day fundraiser has resulted in very generous contributions to our camp program, providing life-changing experiences for special needs kids across B.C.,” said Mel Zajac, founder of the Zajac Ranch for Children. “We are excited to be reuniting with White Spot on this initiative again in 2012 and encourage everyone to get out and enjoy a Pirate Pak on August 15.”
The special edition Adult Pak is only available on Aug. 15 and starts at $10.99. It features a choice of four burger options, including the Legendary Burger, Bacon Cheddar Bigger Burger, Provolone Veggie Burger on a multigrain bun and the B.C. Chicken Burger. Each meal is served with fresh-cut fries, a soft drink, a scoop of premium ice cream and a “gold” chocolate coin.
The Pirate Pak was created in 1968 by founder Nat Bailey to provide a unique dining experience for children aged 10 and under. The Pirate Pak is celebrating its 44th anniversary this year. For $5.99, little mates can choose from a variety of popular food options including: a regular hamburger, grilled cheese sandwich, Pirate Pals, spaghetti and meatball, macaroni and cheese, lightly battered Pacific Cod or our Health Check approved Lifestyle pizza combo.
