A new cutting-edge kid's salon that combines function with fun and entertainment is celebrating its grand opening with fundraiser for The Surrey Firefighters Association Burn Fund on Saturday, April 9 from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A special events room normally used for glamour girl birthday parties will host magic shows by Aaron Martini and a mini blues concert by blues legend Wes Mackey.

Hoping for a good turnout, owner Jack Tchillingarian has offered up free gifts for the first 50 kids and coffee for grown-ups compliments of Starbucks. Surrey Acting Mayor Marvin Hunt will open the day at 10 a.m. and MLA Jagrup Brar will bring it to a close at 5 p.m.

Throughout the day folks will have a chance to check out the  salon with its TV/DVD/radio equipped chairs that also feature Nintendo WII, XBox and Playstation 3 as well as baby-friendly vehicles like Thomas the Train, Pink Barbie Jeep and Red Ferrari.
