Helping kids take part in art

RBC Foundation has contributed $370,000 for inner-city students since 2005.

Strawberry Hill RBC branch manager Jacky Gill presents a donation of $40,000 to Surrey Board of Education chairperson Laurae McNally for the RBC Take P-Art program.

Since 2005, the RBC Foundation has contributed $370,000 to Take P-Art, which provides 6,000 inner-city students in the district the opportunity to participate in artistic creation, event planning, back stage operations and the experience of watching and performing in a top-level theatrical event.

Ten classes are selected to receive intensive workshops with professional artists in their schools, culminating in student performances at Surrey’s Bell Performing Arts Centre to showcase what they learned.
