ReadRewardu.com, a start-up being launched by an SFU Surrey student, aims to revolutionize the world of e-reading by allowing you to receive tangible rewards for reading eBooks. The start-up wants to give readers of all ages incentives for reading and brands a chance to promote their products.

The start-up, which is the first of its kind in the e-reading space, plans to host all types of eBooks, such as novels and textbooks. Upon paying a fee, brands will be able to sponsor rewards on the site. Rewards, such as gift cards, soft drinks and a variety of others will appear as a reader progresses through an eBook. These rewards will be redeemable at local stores.

Japreet Lehal, a second-year university student pursuing a business degree, has launched the platform out of his passion for reading.

“I understand the power of reading and the positive impacts that it can have on society as a whole. ReadRewardu wants to encourage as many people as possible to read, and rewards will help in achieving this goal,” says Lehal.

Lehal also launched another online start-up earlier this year, GoResearch.co, which is helping make the world of research opportunities more accessible for students.  Lehal is studying at Simon Fraser University and wishes to help society through entrepreneurship and business endeavours.

“Reading has the power to change our world for the better. Through knowledge, one can create global change,” says Lehal.

Over the coming months, ReadRewardu plans to work with publishers and brands to offer a wide selection of eBooks and rewards. To sign up for a free account and to learn more about the start-up, visit ReadRewardu.com from your mobile, tablet or computing device.
