The stars are coming out to play.

Vancouver-raised NHLers Brendan Gallagher and Ryan Johansen and Canucks defenceman Alex Edler will be joined by several NHLers at a charity hockey game on July 25th at the Pacific Coliseum.

The game will be the first-ever Potential Apparel Charity Hockey Game, and tickets went on sale in June. Potential Apparel is, perhaps obviously, an apparel company based out of Victoria, B.C.

The company says 50 per cent of all the game's proceeds will go to a trinity of charities, HEROS Hockey, Right To Play, and Make-A-Wish Canada.

"I know there are more than a few hockey fans in Vancouver who miss watching high-caliber play in the summer as much as I do," said David Dotan, CEO of Potential Apparel, in a company press release.

"This event will not only bring together some of the biggest names in hockey for what is sure to be a fantastic game, but it will also benefit local charities that help underprivileged youth reach their potential through sport."

Other players invited include former Canuck and Burnaby native Mike Santorelli, North Vancouver's Martin Jones of the L.A. Kings, Colton Sissons of the Kelowna Rockets and the Nashville Predators, Surrey native and Winnipeg Jets prospect Nic Petan, the Detroit Red Wings' Landon Ferraro, former Canuck Jeff Tambellini, Brendan Dillon of Surrey and the Dallas Stars, Morgan Rielly of the Toronto Maple Leafs and North Vancouver, the Anaheim Ducks' Andrew Cogliano, and Victor Bartley of the Nashville Predators, who's originally from Maple Ridge.
