The seventh annual Staples back-to-school supply drive is currently underway, raising funds to provide school supplies to thousands of Delta children.
Every year, during their back-to-school shopping rush, the North Delta Staples store collects funds in support of the Delta School District. Last year, nearly $9,000 was raised. This money is used to purchase school supplies for children in all 24 elementary schools in the Delta School District.
“We just want to really say thank you to our community for their generosity. Every year, their kindness helps children succeed in school,” said Derek Bay, store manager of the North Delta Staples.
The Staples School Supply Drive is a national initiative. Last year, more than $1 million was raised across Canada. This year’s drive started on July 29 and continues until Sept. 9.
The money raised at the North Delta location will go directly to Delta children, providing them with the tools they need to have a great school year.
The North Delta Staples is located at 7315 120 St.
