North Surrey Secondary is one of six schools across the province that have received Sony digital media devices from Sony Canada thanks to their early registration in Science World British Columbia’s BC Green Games.

The schools will document their environmental action stories for submission in BC Green Games in February 2013.

“We’re excited to be able to give schools these video cameras thanks to our partnership with Sony,” said Bryan Tisdall, Science World’s president and CEO. “We’re sure the cameras will come in handy.”

“This is fantastic news. The camera will definitely come in use for when they start filming their video,” said North Surrey Secondary teacher Lisa Duncan. “On behalf of North Surrey Secondary and our school’s green team, the Spartan Sprouts, thank you very much for this generous prize.”

Science World’s BC Green Games is a province-wide competition for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12, designed to motivate action, enable sharing, and reward and celebrate the green efforts of schools in BC.

To date, over 100 teams are registered this year. The registration has been extended through to February to allow even more teams the opportunity to share their inspirational environmental action stories.

In March 2013, the public will be asked to vote for their favourite submission at bcgreengames.ca. All submissions will also be judged for environmental responsibility, a creative action plan, and clear communication about the project.
