Charity seeks volunteers and donations before heading out on the street on Dec. 25.

In the spirit of giving, The Whalley Santa Cause takes place on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

Volunteers will meet at the Gateway SkyTrain station at 1 p.m.

Until 3 p.m., they will distribute hampers of toiletries, personal hygiene items, jackets, sweaters and socks to people on the street.

Organizers are seeking volunteers and donations from the community for the project, which has been operating since 2011.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
