On BC Lions game day (today – Friday, July 20), Purolator is encouraging BC Lions fans to help tackle hunger by bringing a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the Purolator volunteers stationed at the BC Place stadium gates.

In return, fans will have the opportunity to receive a digital photo with the Grey Cup and star BC Lions alumni Brent Johnson and enter a season-long random draw to win a trip for two to the 100th Grey Cup game in Toronto.

The donations will benefit both the Surrey Food Bank and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

In addition to the food drive, every time a CFL quarterback gets sacked throughout the regular season, Purolator will donate the equivalent of the quarterback’s weight in food to the CFL hometown food bank.

Last year, B.C. football fans helped raise more than 28,500 pounds of food through the game day food drive. Since 2003, BC football fans have helped raise 206,165 pounds of food through the Purolator Tackle Hunger program.
