Book campsites starting Saturday

For campers, it's "go" time at 9 a.m. this Saturday, March 15.

That's the opening time of B.C. Parks' reservation system (known as Discover Camping) for the coming season, for most campgrounds in the province.

In total, there are more than 5,200 easily accessible ("frontcountry") campsites in the provincial system. Up to three reservations can be made in one transaction. Individual frontcountry sites are available up to three months in advance, while group sites are available up to 12 months in advance of an arrival date.

This year, even more reservable campsites have been added to Alice Lake, Golden Ears, Rolley Lake and Herald Lake provincial parks, and campers now can make reservations at Meziadin Lake, Prudhomme Lake and Paul Lake provincial parks.

For details, visit www.discovercamping.ca. Campers can also access Discover Camping reservation service from their smartphones.
