Cabbie stabbed, robbed in Whalley

SURREY - A taxi driver was stabbed and robbed in Whalley early Sunday morning.

The driver told police he picked up a fare near 108th Avenue and 144th Street at about 5:30 a.m. Once they reached the 13300-block of 105A Avenue, he said, his male passenger stabbed him in the arm and hand and took his wallet, cash and cell phone.

Police say the robber is thin, has a dark complexion and wore black pants and a black hoodie, with the hood up. The cabbie, a Surrey resident in his 50s, was treated in hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 604-599-0502.
