Concert to remember Paskall

SURREY - A concert celebrating the memory of murdered hockey mom Julie Paskall will be held in Vancouver this month.

Funds raised at "An Evening of Song & Dance" will be donated to Variety - The Children's Charity.The event, set for Friday, May 23 at WISE Hall on Adanac Street, is organized by musician Johnny DeMarco, who works as a longshoreman with Paskall's husband, Al."We want to raise awareness but also funds for the Variety charity, because Al has a handicapped daughter," DeMarco told the Now.DeMarco's band will include Rick Fedyk (drums) and Todd Ronning (bass), Ray Roper (guitar) and Darryl Havers (keys), plus guest members of The Jardines. Event tickets are $20 at the door.Paskall was beaten to death outside Newton Arena in December while waiting for her son to finish refereeing a hockey game. Investigators are still searching for her killer.
