Cruising for a cause

Six-day motorcycle marathon through southwest B.C. starts and finishes in Surrey, raising money for Sophie's Place.

Wardle, a cast member from CBC's TV show Heartland, and McLeod, a Vancouver actor and musician, organized the event as a fundraiser for Sophie's Place, a child advocacy centre located at the Centre for Child Development in North Surrey.

Motorcyclists (below) and a group of celebrities are taking part in the six-day ride, which will tour will throughout southwestern B.C., making stops in Whistler, Cache Creek, Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Westbank, Princeton, Penticton and Chilliwack. The ride finishes in Surrey on Aug. 30.
