Dance to help New West fire victims

Fundraiser to assist those made homeless in massive Jan. 31 blaze

Locals are using music and dancing to lend a hand to victims of a massive apartment fire in New Westminster on Jan. 31.

The clean-and-sober Love on the Dance Floor event, featuring three DJs, will take place Feb. 7 at 8:15 p.m. at The Metro, 759 Carnarvon St., New Westminster.

There will be raffles, door prizes and the chance to win clothing from SBR Cartel.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Everyone is welcome, and refreshments available for purchase. There will be no alcohol at this event.

All proceeds will go to a fund set up to assist those who lost their homes – the fire destroyed all 32 units in a three-storey building.

For more information, call Mike Zorn at 778-866-7385.

Donations of clothing and small household items can also be made through the Salvation Army (325 6 St., 604-521-0363), St. Barnabas Church (1010 5 Street, 604-526-6646) and Shiloh United Church Hospitality Project (1111 6 Ave.)
