DELTA — John Burr, president of the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society, reunited guide dog Lois with her namesake, Delta Mayor Lois Jackson on Friday.
Mayor Jackson hadn't seen Lois the dog since she was a puppy. As part of their annual commitment to sponsoring a new guide or autism support dog for the BC & Alberta Guide Dogs program, the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society donated $3,500 last year to sponsor Lois the guide dog.
The society named the puppy Lois in honour of Mayor Jackson.
BC & Alberta Guide Dogs is a non-profit that trains guide dogs for blind/visually impaired people and people living with autism.
