A group of high school students from North Delta are helping out their community and younger children as part of a teen-created charity foundation.
Gurpartaap Singh Dhami, founder of Care 4 All BC Foundation, a registered non-profit organization, and his Seaquam Secondary classmates raised $1,000 for their first fundraiser partnering with 15 local elementary schools.
The organization aims to collect food, clothing and hygiene products and even created over 120 care kits to donate to the Surrey Food Bank and Big Brothers. Dhami explained to Black Press Media in an email.
Additionally, with the help of Gurudwara Nanaksar in Surrey, they prepared 200 meals for unhoused people in the community and distributed food and care kits to unhoused people in Vancouver.
Dhami and his peers created Care 4 All to make a meaningful impact in their community.
“While volunteering at PICS Society, a friend — now one of our directors — and I received a micro-grant to launch a small initiative," Dhami said.
"With that funding, we created 30 care kits for unhoused people. This experience opened our eyes to the struggles faced by others and strengthened our resolve to give back, sparking the birth of Care 4 All BC Foundation.”
Through fundraising efforts and the “invaluable guidance” from Delta North MLA Ravi Kahlon, Dhami and his peers learned the value of hard work and the joy of giving back to their community, he added.

“Organizing a toy drive with 24HR Flex Fitness Club was a turning point for me. Seeing the overwhelming support from the community and knowing the toys would bring happiness to kids during the holidays was deeply fulfilling. It made me realize how much power lies in bringing people together for a cause. The experience taught me the importance of compassion and showed me that even small efforts can create lasting impacts, both in others’ lives and my own,” said one of the student members of Care 4 All.
Care 4 All BC Foundation’s mission is to empower youth and make a lasting impact especially with youth who lack opportunities, organizers shared with Black Press.
“At Care 4 All BC Foundation, we believe the youth are the future,” Dhami said.
“Recognizing their potential to shape a better world, we refined our mission to provide young people with opportunities to grow, lead and give back to their communities.”
Volunteers are involved in projects and receive valuable volunteer hours and references for their contributions, the student said. They share ideas and develop leadership skills turning their visions into reality.
This holiday season, they are having fundraisers to provide gifts, athletic opportunities, educational support and mental health resources for children in the community to bring joy and happiness.
Care 4 All BC Foundation and its hard-working students could use more help and support to bring light to its platform to support their community and its youth. The organization asks anyone to consider joining them in their quest to help others in the community and inspire youth to be the best that they can be.
