Former Mountie convicted of lying at inquiry

DELTA - Former Mountie Benjamin "Monty" Robinson was convicted of perjury over his testimony at the public inquiry following the 2007 Tasering death at Vancouver International Airport.

 

He was accused of lying eight times over three days of testimony at the 2009

 

Braidwood inquiry, which was launched following the death of Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski.

 

In 2012, Robinson was convicted of obstruction of justice in the 2008 Tsawwassen crash that killed 21-year-old Orion Hutchinson.
