Guilty of manslaughter

NEW WESTMINSTER - Surrey man Russell Atma Bidesi, 23, has been found guilty of manslaughter in the 2012 shooting death of Kacey Rogers, 31, in Whalley.

Justice Bruce found Bidesi guilty of the lesser charge following his murder trial in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.

Rogers, 31, was shot dead at his duplex home in the 14000-block of Grosvenor Road on Feb. 26, 2012.

"This was a planned home invasion," Cpl. Adam MacIntosh, of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said at the time.

Bidesi will be back in court today (May 28) to fix a date for sentencing.
