Two South Surrey boys first attempt at entrepreneurship ended in a $550 donation to the Canadian Red Cross Society to assist those impacted by B.C. wildfires.

Ryder Isfeld, 8, and Jayden Lewis, 9, asked Isfeld’s father, Carson, to build a custom lemonade stand earlier this month.

The two young boys spent four hours in the 2400-block of 164 Street Aug. 4 selling fresh lemonade to motorists and pedestrians.

Even those on the front lines of fighting fires couldn’t resist the temptation of an ice-cold cup of lemonade.

“While they were there, we had three fire trucks and one RCMP stop in and grab a cup of lemonade. Along with the first responders that stopped by, multiple people just passing by stopped and grabbed a cup and congratulated the boys on their efforts,” Carson wrote to Peace Arch News.

“When all was said and done, the two of them took the donations down to the local Red Cross and through the thoughtfulness of the boys and generosity of first responders and community supporters, they were able to donation over $550 to assist with the wildfire relief efforts.”
