New Surrey RCMP memorial installed

Cairn at main detachment honours the local officers who have died in the line of duty.

Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts helped RCMP members Chief Supt. Bill Fordy, Chief Supt. Dan Malo and Staff Sgt. Major Aaron Paradis unveil a new rebuilt public memorial cairn at Surrey RCMP's main detachment at Highway 10 and 144 Street Nov. 14.

The cairn is inscribed with the names of the five Surrey RCMP members who have been killed while on active duty in the city. The names of the members are Constables Archie Lepine, Roger Pierlet, Terry Draginda, John Baldwin and Adrian Oliver.
