The extremely popular night market idea is coming to Surrey.
Based on a trendy weekend market in Richmond that attracts thousands of people from May through October, organizers are looking to bring the concept to this city.
Surrey's version launches in the summer and will be an open-air market for residents buying and selling a variety of local foods, services and goods.
It's planned as a multicultural, family-friendly event for people throughout the region.
It's also expected the market, which will set up shop at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, will showcase a variety of talent and performing arts.
The Surrey Night Market will run from July 4 to Aug. 30 this year, every week on Friday and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 6050 176 St.
