North Delta’s George Mackie Library to show 2016 Olympic Games

All Delta libraries to show the CBC's Rio 2016 coverage for the duration of the Games.

Olympic fever is in the air at the Mackie Library.

From Aug. 5 to 21, all Delta libraries, including the George Mackie Library, will be airing the CBC’s coverage of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad (otherwise known as the 2016 Summer Olympics) live from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Delta is being represented by Maxwell Lattimer and Brendan Hodge on the lightweight men’s four rowing team, Mark Pearson on the Canadian national field hockey team and swimmer Markus Thormeyer.

Watch the Games and support our athletes while visiting your local Delta libraries during these 17 eventful days, starting with the Olympic Countdown on Friday, Aug. 5 at 3:30 pm.

Library hours are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m on Sundays.

The Games will not be available during regular library programming.
