VANCOUVER - Black Press Media and Glacier Media have swapped a number of Metro Vancouver newspapers, including the Now.
Black Press has purchased Surrey Now newspaper from Glacier Media, along with
Langley Advance and Maple Ridge Times.
As part of the transaction, which was announced on Wednesday (Dec. 17), Glacier Media has acquired Tri Cities News, Burnaby News Leader, Richmond Review and New Westminster News Leader.
The companies will take operational control of the newspapers on March 2. Glacier says the move will "strengthen the company's community media business in the Lower Mainland."
In a separate transaction, Black Press purchased the Vancouver Island Community Newspaper Group from Glacier. The sale did not include Victoria Times Colonist.
