Surrey RCMP is once again inviting the community to “Pack the Police Car.”

From 1-7 p.m. today (Friday, Dec. 5), officers and volunteers will be at Hillcrest Village Mall (18600-block of Fraser Highway) to collect donations of non-perishable food items, cash and more in support of the Cloverdale Christmas Hamper Program.

“We hope that, with the generous support of Surrey citizens, we can pack our police cars full of food and gifts to ensure that local families  in need can have a happy holiday season,” Cpl. Bert Paquet said.

Suggested food donations include canned vegetables and fruit, soup, crackers, snacks, canned meat/fish, pasta and rice. Other items that will help fill the need include grocery gift cards, toiletries, new winter accessories and new, unwrapped toys and gifts.
