It's billed as a good, old-fashioned summer celebration.

Saturday (July 5), Surrey's Historic Stewart Farm hosts an all-ages Pioneer Fair.

Dress up as a pioneer, be entertained by Surrey's Re-enactors, who breathe life into Surrey's true stories from the period of 1872- to 1945, and enjoy music, dancing, picnics and more, including family portraits.

Play old-time carnival games, take part in friendly competition at one of the old-fashioned races. Watch spinning demonstrations and sample hand-churned ice cream, popcorn and lemonade on the farmhouse's roomy verandah.

Historic Stewart Farm is located at 13723 Crescent Road, Surrey. It's regular hours of operation are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 to p.m. May through August. Entrance is by donation.
