Surrey-Fleetwood MLA Peter Fassbender presents a cheque from the B.C. government to the Fleetwood Community Centre.

Province gives Fleetwood Community Centre $100,000

Money will improve facilities and enhance existing programs.

The government of B.C. has committed $100,000 towards improvements at Fleetwood Community Centre in Surrey.

“I’m very pleased that the B.C. government was able to help this wonderful facility that allows so many to get out and participate in social activities and be active in our community,” said Peter Fassbender, MLA for Surrey-Fleetwood. “This funding will help to serve families in Surrey-Fleetwood for many years to come.”

The funding will do much to enrich the centre, said Coun. Barbara Steele.

“It will allow us to improve facilities and welcoming spaces as well as provide program enhancements to senior services and family initiatives that will directly benefit all users of the Fleetwood Community Centre.”

The money will buy fitness equipment, enhance the lobby and community shared space, and support initiatives for all ages at the facility.
