SURREY – Provincial finance minister Mike de Jong will open the 2014 Surrey Regional Economic Summit on Feb. 27.
As part of his presentation, de Jong will highlight details of the Feb. 18 B.C. budget.
The annual summit is designed to give business, government and community leaders an opportunity to hear from a wide range of local, national and international panelists and experts.
The 2014 Surrey Summit will look at what can be learned from the economies of Australia, Greece and Israel with the help of former Prime Ministers Julia Gillard, George Papandreou and Ehud Barak.
Also featured will be energy activist and philanthropist T. Boone Pickens, the Texas oilman committed to reducing America’s dependence on OPEC oil.
