SFU Surrey hosts 50th anniversary celebrations

Campus opened its doors to the community.

Battling robots, an exoskeleton demo, touchable sea creatures, wearable technology and savvy student innovations were just some of the visual features of Simon Fraser University’s 50th Celebration Open House at the Surrey campus on Wednesday evening.

Nearly 3,000 visitors took in more than 60 exhibits and demonstrations, watched cultural performances, and checked out displays and activities throughout the architecturally award-winning campus.

SFU President Andrew Petter welcomed the community at 6:30 p.m., which was followed by the 50th anniversary celebration.rat anatomy
