Red and white ruled the day at Surrey's Canada Day Celebration in Cloverdale Wednesday.

The all-day July 1 party attracted a crowd of more than 100,000, many of whom came decked out for the occasion with faces painted and flags aplenty to show their national pride.

Dozens of exhibitors, midway games and rides filled the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre, while performers kept the entertainment coming.

Headlining the 148th birthday bash were Canadian rockers Blue Rodeo, and the night was capped off with a fireworks show.
