Sunday fun day for footballers

Like other teams in the organization, the North Delta Longhorns' bantam team played its first game of the Vancouver Mainland Football League (VMFL) season on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 31) at John Oliver Park in Delta. The local squad, which includes former B.C. Lions running back Cory Philpot as a coach, stomped on a team from Cowichan by a score of 48-0. The Now's Gord Goble was there to shoot the on-field action.
