Students at Old Yale School Elementary enjoy planting their Princess Irene tulip garden to help patients at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

This fall, Surrey students are beautifying their school grounds to learn how to make a difference in their own community.

Five schools are participating in the sixth-annual Tulips for Tomorrow campaign presented by Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF).

“When their tulip gardens bloom in the spring, students will see the result of their efforts and be reminded that every single tulip they’ve grown will impact someone’s life," says Jane Adams, CEO of the SMHF.

Each year the SMHF sells signature Princess Irene tulip bulbs at partner retailers in the fall as a fundraiser. The support of Bouygues Canada makes the campaign possible.

This year, funds will go to purchase life-saving equipment for the hospital.
