Students in Grades 4 to 7 from 10 Surrey elementary schools participated in a cricket tournament last week.
The students have been learning the game of cricket through the RBC Wicket Cricket program and the Friday event marked the end of the program's second year.
Lessons are provided once a week for a month at each school, where kids not only learn how to play the sport, but are also taught by professional coaches about cricket's rules and history.
By 2013, nearly 9,000 students will have taken part in the RBC Cricket Wicket program, a five-year partnership between RBC and the Surrey School District.
