Paolo Gianturco is coming to the Guildford Library.

Meet international photojournalist/author Paola Gianturco on Oct. 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Guildford Library, 15105 105 Ave.

For the past sixteen years, Gianturco has worked as a photojournalist, documenting women’s lives in 55 countries, creating five books as philanthropic projects.

She has been a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, NPR and Voice of America programs as well as other TV and radio programs around the world.

Gianturco’s newest book, Grandmother Power: A Global Phenomenon, features 120 activist grandmothers in 15 countries on five continents who are fighting against poverty, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and human rights abuse.

Books will be available for purchase following her presentation.

Gianturco is giving 100 per cent of her author royalties to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which benefits grandmothers raising AIDS orphans in 15 African countries.
