Three curlers earn honours

Three Surrey and North Delta curlers will be honoured when Curl B.C. stages its annual awards night in Coquitlam on June 14.

Local athletes swept the junior aswards this year.

Delta Thistle Curling Club member Sarah Daniels has been named the junior female athlete of the year for the second time. The Seaquam student helped her junior team to a silver medal at the 2014 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships and skipped her Under-17 team to a gold medal at the Canada Winter Games qualifier in Vernon Surrey's Tyler Tardi is the junior male athlete of the year after winning silver at the 2014 Tim Horton's B.C. Junior Curling Championships and silver at the 2014 B.C. High School Curling Championships. He also won the W.R. Bennett Award for Athletic Excellence at the B.C. Winter Games.

Finally, Surrey's Paul Tardi is the winner of the Anita Cochrane Award as coach of the year.
