SURREY — The final Community Walk event in Newton for 2017 will involve some “tulip bombing” in the area.

“To continue a tradition started in 2016, we’re going to be planting 1,000 tulips throughout the town centre,” reads a message from the Newton Business Improvement Association.

The so-called “tulip bombing” will take place on Friday, Nov. 3, starting at 10 a.m. at the BIA’s office, at #305-7380 King George Blvd., Surrey.

“Grab your hand shovels, garden shoes and join us as we bomb Newton Town Centre with tulips and continue our mission to beautify the town centre.… The more hands we have, the more tulips we’ll plant!”

Volunteers will be provided with gloves and safety vest, and the event should last for around two hours.
