We can find transit cash in the system

Surrey - The Editor, Re: "Hepner says 'Yes' vote is simply 'common sense,'" the Now, Feb. 17.

Anyone voting "Yes" in the TransLink plebiscite is opening the door for any future increases in the PST without further consultation.Sure, the increase in the PST may only be 0.5 per cent but who is going to administer it and its future implications should be considered.Would you give money to someone who has repeatedly shown their inability to use it responsibly?Paying basically two CEOs for running TransLink does not give me any confidence in their ability to run the system efficiently.I do not believe the statement there is not a Plan B and if the "No" side wins, nothing will happen and we will see gridlocks on the roads for many years. Before the mayoral election last year, Linda Hepner said that Surrey will have a LRT by the next election regardless of the outcome of the plebiscite. Does that lead you to believe there is no Plan B? There is money in the system and it can be found through savings and efficiency. It is about time we realized that.Darshan SinghSurrey
