A wet start to the 2012 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer Saturday at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.

A torrential downpour didn't stop Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer from setting participation – and fundraising – records Saturday.

Some 3,011 participants set out from Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino in Cloverdale for the fourth annual ride.

Participants are cycled more than 200 kms across two routes between Vancouver and Seattle, raising $11.2 million for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Since its inception, the Ride to Conquer Cancer has raised more than $39.1 million for the foundation.

The event draws survivors, cyclists and supporters together for a two-day ride.
