An organization that works to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned birds of prey is set to hold its annual Christmas open house event next weekend.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, the public is invited to learn more about the inner workings at the Orphaned Wildlife (OWL) Rehabilitation Society, whose winged patients hail from all over B.C. – including the Semiahmoo Peninsula – and beyond.

OWL I Want For Christmas will be the Delta organization’s first winter fundraiser in four years.

Highlights are to include facility and museum tours, refreshments and photos with Santa and his owl helper.

Admission is free; cost for a digital Santa photo will be $10.

All proceeds will benefit the society’s raptor-care efforts.

Organizers note the event location is wheelchair accessible, but not pet-friendly.

OWL is located at 3800 72 St.
